node.js - Euro symbol in Jupyter Latex -

i new jupyter, using node kernel. problem can't "euro" symbol in latex. when type $ 123 \euro $ in markdown cell 123 \euro.

do observe same behavior ? suggestion ?

the latex support in live notebook limited mathjax support. mathjax goal indicate:

high-quality display of mathematics notation in browsers

and in practice, mean trying have narrow scope way less full latex. \euro outside of scope, won't render in live notebook.
